Gabriella Cilmi has revealed that she didn't want to pose topless for a men's magazine.

The 19-year-old Australian singer, who took part in a photoshoot with FHM magazine to promote her new album, said that she didn't understand quite how raunchy the images would be before they were published.

Cilmi told Bang Showbiz: "The first single from the album is called 'Woman on a Mission', it was just kind of getting into character for what I thought the song was about, which is that it’s okay to show off a bit of your body and your curves.

"Not to the extent that I did in the magazine… They removed my top, they didn’t say they were going to do that, so that was a bit of a shock to see myself in that light, I was fed the wrong information, people didn’t keep their promises.

"I wouldn’t do it again, you can never tell what the outcome’s going to be."

However, Cilmi added that it is acceptable to wear skimpy outfits in some situations, saying: "It’s cool to be sexy and confident with your body, and I’m setting a good example, I have a real body, yeah I look good."

Cilmi previously said that she looks at her FHM pictures and laughs.
