Rimes 'threatens beau's ex with lawsuit'

LeAnn Rimes has sent boyfriend Eddie Cibrian's ex, Brandi Glanville, a cease-and-desist letter.

The country star has accused Glanville of slander and promises to proceed with a formal lawsuit if a response isn't received within five days, reports E Online.

A source on Rimes's side said that the action follows "months and months of Brandi speaking about LeAnn in the press and telling lies."

The source added: "This is a reaction and something she felt was necessary to do to protect herself."

However, friends of Glanville's reportedly say that there is no basis to the claim, adding: "Brandi has been nothing but nice to LeAnn.

"She let her kids go to Mexico with them, and she is genuinely happy that they like her. If they didn't, then she would be upset."
