The 29-year-old said that despite the racy subject matter, her mother has been nothing but supportive and can't wait to see the movie, which also stars Cybill Shepherd.
"My mum's like, 'I'm so proud. You're pole dancing and you're going to play a prostitute. Awesome'," she told Entertainment Tonight.
"It's like, 'Yeah, what you always dreamed about, mama!' But you know, it's a great part."
Love Hewitt also insisted that The Client List's storyline will be something that everyone can relate to.
"It's really a movie about the human condition, and the heart, and where life can take you."
