'Lost's Holloway almost became estate agent

Josh Holloway considered becoming a real estate agent before landing his role on Lost.

Speaking to Men's Health, the 40-year-old revealed that he took a real estate exam in 2004 before being cast on the hit show.

He explained that he "couldn't buy an acting job" at the time and was "taking steps to do something" about an alternative career.

The actor said that he hoped to work as a realtor in order to establish himself as some kind of success before proposing to then-girlfriend Yessica Kumala, who is now his wife.

Holloway continued: "I'd been waiting to ask her for at least a year, but I couldn't. I didn't have anything to offer. I wanted to be a provider. I wanted to be proud of what I do."

The former model played Sawyer on Lost for six seasons.
