Pitt and Jolie sponsor orphanage

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have sponsored thirty children at an Ethiopian orphanage.

The pair visited Africa together, where Jolie signed adoption papers for three-month-old Zahara Marley.

However, the Mr. and Mrs. Smith stars decided to sponsor the rest of the children for a year, and donated £30,000 so that the basic orphanage can be renovated.

"Brad and Angelina had a real tough time when they were over there," a source told the Daily Star. "They witnessed so much poverty that they just had to help. They wanted to make a difference - that's the kind of people they are."

Describing the orphanage, the insider added, "At the moment it is very basic and simple things like feeding bottles and bedding is lacking. But the money Brad and Angelina gave will totally turn things around.

"Right now, there are 30 children staying there aged from three months old to 12 but now they'll all benefit from Brad and Angelina's help."
