Anna Friel has given birth to a 7lb 4oz baby girl.

The ex-Brookside actress, along with partner David Thewlis, was thrilled with their new arrival, Gracie.

A friend of the couple told The Sun: "She and David are just made up. Anna wants to be back to her old shape in three months. She has nude scenes in her next movie Goal! and has a wager with a friend that she'll be fine for it.

"She will take time off to breastfeed Gracie and bond with her, then David will take charge until she has finished filming."
