Vanessa Redgrave to take acting break

Vanessa Redgrave has announced that she is planning to take a break from acting work.

The 73-year-old actress told the Daily Star that she is hoping to use the hiatus as a time to "take stock" of the loss of her daughter, actress Natasha Richardson, as well as her, sister Lynn Redgrave and brother Corin Redgrave, all of whom have died in the past year.

"I'm glad not to work for a while," she said. "I want to take time to think and to read and to garden and see my daughter and be with my grandchildren."

Redgrave can currently be seen in Letters to Juliet.
