The actor joined the cast of the franchise for third instalment Eclipse, playing a newborn vampire called Riley.
Speaking to Interview magazine, he said: "It's kind of bizarre, isn't it? Having that kind of attention.
"I'm not under the microscope in the same fashion that a lot of the other cast members are, so I think I can slide under the radar a little bit more, but getting any attention at all is completely new for me."
Samuel - who was interviewed by co-star Bryce Dallas Howard (Victoria) for the feature - was also asked for his thoughts on the overall experience of Eclipse.
"It's kind of like being struck by lightning in a way," he replied. "Because it all seems so improbable."
The Australian-born actor previously said that he felt "privileged" to join the franchise, describing it as a "fantastic opportunity".
The Twilight Saga: Eclipse is released June 30 in the US and July 8 in the UK.
