Peter Andre has been crowned 2010's 'Celebrity Dad Of The Year'.

The 37-year-old, who has two young children with ex-wife Katie Price, accepted his award in London this morning after beating off competition from Jeff Brazier and Gary Barlow in a public vote.

Responding to the accolade, Andre commented: "This feels so good. It's been a turnaround year for me and the kids and it's an honour to be the subject of the public's support and best wishes. This means a huge amount to me as being a dad is my most important role."

He added: "There isn't a better award, there isn't - because it's lifelong. Other awards are for there and then, this is for life. My kids are going to know that I have won this."

Parenting club Bounty, which organised the poll, confirmed that more than 35,000 votes had been cast by the public, PA reports.

Spokeswoman Faye Mingo said: "Bounty is thrilled Peter has been awarded the title. Our mums tell us that he's an inspiration for all single dads going through a tough divorce and that they respect the fact that he makes time and puts in untold effort to be able to enjoy the family life he values so much."

The top ten celebrity fathers were:

1. Peter Andre
2. Jeff Brazier
3. Gary Barlow
4. Jamie Oliver
5. Gordon Brown
6. Ben Shephard
7. David Cameron
8. Ronan Keating
9. Wayne Rooney
10. Steven Gerrard
