Gosselin 'happy spending time with kids'

Jon Gosselin has reportedly said that he knows he is doing what is best for his family even if the media does not see it.

The Jon & Kate Plus 8 star - who split from wife Kate last year - is father to 9-year-old twins Mady and Cara and 6-year-old sextuplets Aaden, Collin, Joel, Alexis, Hannah and Leah.

Speaking to Hollywood Life, he said: "It's a media driven world and I'm tired of fighting the battles so I kind of just go with the flow.

"I guess in the media's eyes I'll never be the father-of-eight again, but it doesn't matter. I know in my kids' eyes that I am. My mum said to me, 'It doesn't matter what other people think of you, it matters what the people you love think of you'. I was like, 'That's good advice... Why do I care what anyone else thinks?'"

He continued: "I know in my heart what I’m doing what is right. I came back to PA, I'm spending time with my kids, I'm being a father again. Those are the things I missed and those are the things that are making me happy now."

The reality star added that he is focused on his children as they continue to get older and that he will do "what is best" for his family.

Gosselin recently revealed that new girlfriend Ellen Ross gets along well with his children and is great at finding ways to keep them entertained when they get bored.
