James has reportedly told TMZ that his "first and foremost" reason for relocating to Austin is because his children want to continue their relationship with his ex-wife.
The Oscar-winning actress owns a home in the city.
James will work full-time at the Austin Speed Shop and keep a part-time job at West Coast Shoppers in Long Beach.
The 41-year-old also said that he wants to open a Cisco Burger franchise in Austin.
