The American Pie star checked into Utah's Cirque Lodge to take part in a 30-day alcohol addiction programme, reports Gossip Cop.
"After recent events, Chris was forced to take a clear look at a problem he has been trying to deal with himself for years," the actor's representative Jaime Primak said in a statement.
He added: "He understands now that he cannot beat this disease alone."
The California Highway Patrol stopped and arrested Klein last Wednesday.
