Jamie Foxx defends Tom Cruise

Jamie Foxx has slammed Tom Cruise's critics for giving him bad press recently, concluding that the motive behind it is jealously.

Foxx has noted that his Collateral co-star has received a lot of negative media commentary in the past months for his whirlwind relationship with and engagement to Katie Holmes, his promotion of Scientology and branding psychiatry and the use of anti-depressant drugs a 'pseudoscience'.

The Guardian quotes him as saying: "Tom Cruise is like the Michael Jordan of acting. He looks like he has everything - and he does.

"He has never had a fall. So people are looking for him to trip and fall."
