Katherine Jackson thanks fans for tributes

Katherine Jackson has thanked son Michael's fans for their tributes since his death last year.

The late singer's mother posted a video on Youtube in which she spoke of her appreciation for the support she has received and welcomed a celebration of the star's life this Saturday in Beverley Hills, the anniversary of his death.

She said: "I know that Michael would be very honoured that his fans from all over the world are coming together to celebrate his life.

"I'd also like to thank friends all over the world for the love and support they have given me and my family this last year. Thank you very much fans, and we all love you. And if Michael was here he would say 'I love you more'."

A memorial in London will also be unveiled later this week at the Lyric Theatre, currently home to tribute show Thriller Live!.
