Pete Doherty released on bail

Pete Doherty has been released on bail following last week's alleged assault upon a journalist.

The Babyshambles frontman attended a north London police station last night for questioning regarding an alleged incident last week when he supposedly set upon Mirror journalist Laurie Hanna.

The pair were reportedly at the capital's Boogaloo pub when Doherty punched Hanna, shouting: "What is it your paper calls me - f**king junkie scum?" Hanna later sought hospital treatment for bruising and swelling.

Doherty has now been released on bail until next month.
