Madonna, daughter 'launch fashion line'

Madonna and her 13-year-old daughter Lourdes have launched a junior fashion line called Material Girl.

The range will be released on August 3 and will be sold exclusively at Macy's department stores in the US, reports the Los Angeles Times.

It will include apparel, footwear, jewellery and handbags. Prices run from $12 (£8) to $40 (£27).

The singer said that Material Girl will draw inspiration from Lourdes's personal approach to fashion.

"I think this line is absolutely an extension of her taste," she said.

"We like to combine… a plaid or a flannel with a lace, or leather with lace or rhinestones. So we mix and match textures and fabrics and elements that are both masculine and feminine."

Madonna previously released a fashion line for H&M in 2007.
