'OC' taught Mischa about love

The O.C. star Mischa Barton has admitted that her role on the show has taught her a lot about love.

Asked what she had learned playing troubled teen Marissa Cooper, the 19-year-old replied: "That a relationship will never work out when you're being jerked around. There are no long-term aspects to a guy who's being mean to you or not consistently kind."

She added: "What I've learned is that those kinds of guys don't stick around. A girl wants security."
