Monjack 'left mysterious message on phone'

Simon Monjack reportedly left a mysterious voicemail message on his own phone shortly before his death.

Brittany Murphy's widow, who was found dead at his Hollywood home in May, is believed to have left the message on the day he died.

According to TMZ, Monjack says in the recording: "I need to go to the hospital. I have a fever."

Murphy's mother Sharon is later heard on the message saying: "Tell them you have a... fever."

Investigators are apparently unclear if the call was made from Monjack's phone and whether he intended to dial his own number.

The cause of death has yet to be determined.
