The famed cycling champion took to Twitter on Monday to make the announcement.
"This will be final Tour de France (sic)," Armstrong tweeted.
"It's been a great ride. Looking forward to 3 great weeks... Doh, sorry, meant 'my' final Tour."
The 38-year-old finished third in last year's Tour behind his Spanish teammate Alberto Contador.
This year's Tour starts with a prologue in Rotterdam on Saturday and ends July 25 in Paris.
