The late popstar's father is dropping his bid to receive $15,000 (£9,952) a month in favour of pursuing a wrongful death lawsuit, reports Access Hollywood.
Joe filed the suit against Dr Conrad Murray last Friday. Murray is charged with involuntary manslaughter in Michael's death.
However, the Jackson family patriarch, who was omitted from Michael's will, indicated that he may seek the stipend at a later date.
