Van Outen, who recently became a mum for the first time, successfully swallowed 250 grams of the treat in under a minute on yesterday's Five O'Clock Show.
Her co-host Melanie Sykes also broke a record, managing to use the most hair rollers in one minute. Guest James Martin failed in his world record attempt at putting on the most bras in a minute.
Speaking about their stint on the Channel 4 teatime show earlier this week, Sykes and Van Outen claimed that TV was missing the "edge" that they used to provide on programmes such as The Big Breakfast.
"When we were presenting years ago, the presenters were all very real," Van Outen told the TV Times.
"Suddenly there's this whole turn, especially on prime time TV - you have to be sugary and just read the autocue and smile."
