The Australian supermodel, who was spending time with boyfriend Jake Wall in the Whitsundays at the time of the incident, suffered a scald to one side of her face when she spilled a flask of boiling water.
Hawkins told The Daily Telegraph: "It was scary. Someone up there must like me... It wasn't too bad - these things happen."
The Myer department store ambassador had to cancel two photoshoots as a result of the accident but should not have permanent scars.
