The 29-year-old socialite was reported to have been arrested after a World Cup quarter-final match at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Friday when a member of her team was suspected of using and possessing cannabis.
According to The AP, Hilton was questioned by police in a FIFA courtroom late last night and later released without charge after the member of her group in question pleaded guilty.
Hilton later cleared up the incident on Twitter, writing: "Hey guys, there's a lot of crazy rumours going around. Just want you all to know the truth. Everything is completely fine. I was not charged or arrested, cause I didn't do anything.
"Everyone was super nice and friendly to me, I love South Africa! Such an amazing place, especially during the World Cup! Hope that clears everything up."
Hilton also stated that she was helping South African police with their enquiries.
