Ex-Corrie star in court over rape charge

Former Coronation Street star Christopher Quinten will appear in court today over a rape charge.
Quinten, who played mechanic Brian Tilsley in the soap from 1978 to 1989, is charged for the rape of a woman in her 20s in a London nightclub on June 25.
The 48-year-old actor, who has also featured in movies such as International Velvet, Robocop 2 and TV's Doctors, will appear at London's Horseferry Road Magistrates' Court.
Quinten, real name Chris Bell, was previously charged with assaulting a former lover in 2000, but the case was later dropped.
