Scarlett brands Cruise 'ignorant'

Scarlett Johansson is the latest to criticise Tom Cruise's stance on anti-depressants.

Whilst on the interview circuit to promote War of the Worlds recently, Cruise showed his disapproval of those who indulge in psychiatry and anti-depressant drugs, branding the practice a 'pseudo-science'.

During his rant, he named Brooke Shields who took drug Paxil in 2003 when she experienced depression and suicidal thoughts following the birth of her daughter. Shields retaliated in the press, whilst he also drew condemnation from groups such as the American Psychiatric Association over his comments.

Two months later, Lost In Translation actress Scarlett Johansson has added her opinions, stating: "I think people have their own right to choose whether or not they want to stop taking a drug.

"Ruling out something that could legitimately help people seems ignorant."
