The former tennis champion, who split from golfer Norman last year after 18 months of marriage, said that she had "no idea" that their relationship would end so quickly and suddenly.
Evert told Woman's Day magazine: "[The split] wasn't talked about, ever. Never in a million years did I imagine it would end up like this."
The sports star also revealed that she felt very guilty about "breaking the heart" of her former husband Andy Mill to be with Norman, saying: "I miss my family time with Andy and the kids. That was 20 years of history. Probably the best years of my life.
"I also really miss Greg's parents. The best part about him are his parents."
While Evert has claimed that she is not interested in finding love again, Norman is now in a relationship with interior designer Kirsten Kutner.
