Kris Allen 'not interested in tabloids'

Kris Allen has said that he is not interested in courting publicity through the tabloids.

The 'Live Like We're Dying' star told MTV News that generating buzz through his personal life is not his style.

"I feel like a lot of people get famous by doing stuff that ends up in the tabloids. That's not my thing," he explained.

However, he went on to joke: "Maybe it should be! Maybe I should start doing stuff, just ridiculous, stupid stuff."

The singer - who also told interviewer Jim Cantiello that he was "pretty upset" by recent photographs of him taken poolside in the Bahamas - added that he is looking forward to working on new material now that he has settled into his current touring schedule.

"We have a schedule for tour and stuff like that, [so] we can get in the mode and maybe I can start writing a little bit more," he said. "There are a couple of things out there and there are a couple of things I have that I'm really excited about."

Allen is currently touring the US and is scheduled to play Fayetteville, AR tonight.
