Serena Williams 'wanted to be like sister'

Serena Williams has admitted that she wanted to look like her sister Venus while growing up.

The tennis star told Harper's Bazaar that she was jealous of Venus's "model" figure and felt desperate to have a similar body.

"[I was] wanting to look like her, and I was always fitting in her clothes, but then one day I couldn't," she explained.

"But it's fine. Now I'm obviously good, but it's a weird thing. She's totally different. I'm super curvy. I have big boobs and this massive butt. She's tall and she's like a model and she fits everything."

She added that it has taken her a while to come to terms with her own shape.

"Since I don't look like every other girl, it takes a while to be okay with that. To be different. But different is good," she said.

Serena split with longtime boyfriend Common in May.
