'Twilight' star 'likes wearing fake moustache'

Twilight star Jackson Rathbone has joked that he likes to wear a fake moustache in public.

The actor - who plays vampire Jasper Hale in the franchise - was asked on The Today Show whether he could enjoy a bit of anonymity in public because he looks so different to his character.

"That's one thing I've always liked to do with the characters I've played throughout my little career. I try to play characters as far different looking and acting as much as possible. I was always a character actor on the stage," he replied.

"Getting to change your look... my favourite is to go out in public with a fake moustache and see how long it takes for someone to realise it's fake!"

When pressed for an answer, he said: "Usually I get away with it all day. My friends are like, 'Hey, wait. What's that?! You have dirt on your lip!'"

Rathbone - who also stars in The Last Airbender - added that he liked exploring Jasper's background in Eclipse because of his own interest in cowboy movies.

The Twilight Saga: Eclipse is currently playing in US cinemas and opens July 9 in the UK.
