LeAnn Rimes 'taking Twitter break'

LeAnn Rimes has revealed that she will stop using her Twitter account until further notice.

The singer made the announcement on the website on Wednesday, claiming that she no longer wanted to read negative messages from users.

"Taking a break from twitter for a while (sic)," she wrote.

"It's unhealthy for me and my family to have to read negative comments from people who's opinions have no bearing on my life."

She continued: "I love my fans so very much and will return one day soon. God bless to you all! I hope you understand. It's time for me to focus on healing, my happiness and my music. I can't wait to share it all with my fans soon!"

Rimes sparked criticism on Tuesday after paparazzi photos appeared online which showed her kissing boyfriend Eddie Cibrian. The couple allegedly had an affair while Cibrian was married to Brandi Glanville.
