'Royle Family' star to write kids' books

Ricky Tomlinson has announced that he is writing a new series of books for children.
The Royle Family actor has also promised that his stories will be available at budget prices, after being shocked at Madonna's latest book for kids selling at £12.99.
"If it's too dear, I'd rather not do it," Ricky told The Mirror. "It's fantasy for seven to 10. All the characters and stories are there. I'm very excited about it."
Tomlinson's stories will be released next year, and are expected to sell for as little as £5.00.
