The actress - who plays Corbett's daughter in the upcoming movie - told People that she used to sign her name with an initial and a heart shape.
"I like to write messages when I see my fans, so it takes more time to write a message than my name. So whenever I sign something, I sign it with a little 'S' and a heart," she explained.
"[Corbett said], 'What is that? That's not an autograph. They don't even know it's your name... Look what I do' and he put 'John'. That's it!"
The 17-year-old went on to joke that her castmate's signature was "more confusing" than hers because there are so many Johns in the world, but added that she now writes her full name when signing autographs.
Ramona And Beezus is released on July 23.
