Nicolas Cage rep 'denies bar fight'

A rep for Nicolas Cage has denied that the actor was involved in a bar fight last week.

The 46-year-old allegedly got into an altercation with an unnamed person while celebrating the release of his new film The Sorcerer's Apprentice at New York's Rose Bar.

However, his spokesperson denied the incident, claiming that it was a misunderstanding with someone that Cage knew.

"It was a miscommunication with an acquaintance which was quickly resolved and did not involve a physical altercation," he told the New York Post.

The Sorcerer's Apprentice opens on July 14 in the US and on August 13 in the UK.
