Die Hard director John McTiernan has reportedly pleaded guilty to lying to FBI agents and a federal judge.
The filmmaker entered his plea to two counts of making false statements to the FBI and one count of perjury for lying to a federal judge while trying to withdraw a guilty plea, reports The AP.
The charges stem from the investigation of Hollywood private investigator Anthony Pellicano in a wiretapping case.
McTiernan faces up to a year in jail. However, his attorney said that the plea allows the helmer to appeal some pre-trial rulings made by a federal judge.
The 59-year-old previously pleaded guilty to similar charges in 2006 about the investigation of Pellicano. He later withdrew the plea.
In 2008, Pellicano was convicted of wiretapping movie producer Charles Roven for McTiernan and illegally listening to phone conversations of Hollywood celebrities to obtain information for clients.
