Westlife's Shane 'to open nursing home'

Westlife singer Shane Filan is reportedly building an old people's home.

Shane has invested in the project along with his brother Finbar and hopes it will be the first of many, reports Yahoo.

"Shane is looking at life after the band and believes property development is it," a source said.

The £5m project, which has already received planning permission, is expected to create around 300 jobs in Filan's hometown Sligo.

The souce added: "People are living longer these days, and he firmly believes demand will soon outweigh supply when it comes to care homes.

"As well as being a lucrative nest egg, Shane is also putting something back into the local community."

Earlier this year, Shane's wife Gillian gave birth to their third child.
