Jeff Goldblum has admitted that his experience selling stationery supplies becfore becoming an actor was "horrible".

The Law & Order: Criminal Intent actor insisted that he didn't enjoy the telesales job and claimed that it made him physically "sick", reports Contactmusic.

The 57-year-old said: "I worked one week selling pens and pencils over the phone - that was the only other job I've done. It was horrible. My heart wasn't in it, and then I got sick, which probably wasn't unrelated."

As for evaluating his career thus far, he added: "To be honest, my days are not spent going 'Why didn't I get it? I want that part'. There are people who go, 'I have $700 million, but so-and-so has $900 million. Why have you done this to me, God, why am I so miserably second rate?'"

Goldblum recently praised the quality of the guest stars on Law & Order: Criminal Intent.
