Denise Van Outen has declared that she is getting too long in the tooth to be playing games with men.

The former Big Breakfast hostess, having reached the grand old age of 31, insists that women in her position must be brutal when it comes to choosing lovers.

According to itv.com she said: "I'm looking for someone who's reliable and will be there for me. I don't want to play games at this age, I've done all that. I like a man who calls when he says he's going to.

"It's hard for women in their 30s who have a career. We face a dilemma about when's the right time to have children.

"When I meet a new guy, straight away I'm questioning whether he's The One. You have to be brutal at my age, if it doesn't feel right you have to move on."

Van Outen moved on from record producer Fergie Unger-Hamilton two months ago.
