Madonna dropped for Ashlee Simpson?

Madonna has been dropped from the front cover of a magazine in favour of Ashlee Simpson.

The singer was set to pose for the December issue of US magazine Blender as part of a promotional tour for her next album, Confessions On A Dancefloor.

However, it now appears that pop star Ashlee Simpson will be taking Madonna's place.

"Madonna was fuming. She never wanted to do Blender in the first place; she wanted to do Rolling Stone," a source told Teen Hollywood. "And then this put her over the edge."

A representative for the star insisted, "She's too busy healing from her [horse-riding] accident. I was talking to several publications, including Blender. Trust me, you'll see plenty of Madonna in the weeks to come."
