Zac Efron "so proud" of Miley Cyrus

Zac Efron has responded to Miley Cyrus's recent admission that she would have posters of him on her walls if they were not friends.

The Hannah Montana star previously told Access Hollywood that Efron held a "special place" in her heart.

"I am obsessed with Zac Efron. If it wouldn't be creepy because he's a friend, I would have posters on my wall," she joked.

During a recent interview with Access Hollywood, Efron was played a video clip of Cyrus's interview and asked for his response.

"That's so funny! I don't even know what to say to that," he said. "She's really sweet. I've known Miley for a really long time. I've known her since she was a little girl.

"It's amazing what she's done. She's blossomed into this beautiful lady now and taken the world by storm. I'm so proud of her."

Efron's new movie Charlie St. Cloud opens next week.
