Britney Spears child abuse case 'closed'

The Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services has reportedly dropped its child abuse case against Britney Spears.

The popstar, who is mother to 4-year-old Sean Preston and 3-year-old Jayden James, was previously accused of being an unfit mother by former bodyguard Fernando Flores, who alleged that she beat her children and fed them foods which they were allergic to.

According to Radar Online, all charges were dropped on Tuesday after the department completed its investigation.

"[There was] absolutely no truth to the accusations," a source said.

"Sean and Jayden's paediatricians submitted documentation that the boys were healthy, and that they have never seen any signs of abuse. The case was officially closed after the department received that information from the boys' doctor."

The insider added: "[The claim was] absolutely outlandish and absurd. Britney would never lay a hand on either one of her sons, she loves them so much."
