According to Perez Hilton, the staff, who work at Batali's New York restaurant Babbo, claim that they were cheated out of their earned wages.
The suit alleges that the workers were unfairly forced to split their tips with other employees.
"It is sad to see a prestigious employer line his pockets with money belonging to the little guys," said an attorney for the workers.
The class action suit seeks unspecified damages for the employees.
