Paris Hilton "not ready for marriage"

Paris Hilton has announced that she called off her engagement to Paris Latsis because she is "not ready for marriage".

The hotel heiress became worried that she was rushing her relationship and feared that her planned marriage would end in divorce.

"I have seen the breakups between people who love each other and rush into getting married too quickly," Hilton told the Associated Press. "I do not want to make that mistake."

Hilton added that she still loves Latsis and that they have "movies together in the works."

"I'm still young and still have a very active career that I'm not prepared to give up," she explained. "I have worked very hard to get to where I am. Paris is a great guy and we will handle this with dignity and respect."
