David Beckham has revealed that his son Romeo's condition is "not positive".
The three-year old was rushed to hospital twice last week after suffering convulsions.
England skipper Beckham, 30, was given a red card during Saturday's match against Austria, ruling him out of this Wednesday's game with Poland. "I'll speak to Madrid first and see what they want me to do but I'll definitely be here for the game against Poland at Old Trafford on Wednesday and I'll be looking after my son as well," he told reporters.
Asked whether he had positive news on Romeo, he replied: "Not really. Not that positive. I'd rather not go into that."
He added: "It's probably been one of the worst weeks of my life because of what's happened to my son. It's been hard."
