Britney yanks jewelled bra from eBay

Britney Spears has withdrawn one of her jewel-encrusted bras from a charity auction over fears of misleading people.

The item was one of several being auctioned by the singer on eBay to raise funds for the victims of Hurricane Katrina. Bidding on the bra had passed $60,000 when it was pulled late on Saturday.

"The bidding... has exceeded our original expectations," Spears wrote on her website. "I'm concerned that some of you might be confusing this bra with something that it's not. This bra was worn by me during the promotion of my HBO special, however it is not the one I wore onstage during the Baby One More Time performance."

She added: "I feel the correct thing to do is remove this item from the auction because I don't want any of you to feel misled."
