Peter Andre reportedly spoke to Ivy Bean just hours before the world's oldest Twitter and Facebook user passed away.

A heartbroken Andre called the 104-year-old after learning that she was unwell, reports the Telegraph and Argus.

The pair met at a supermarket 'meet and greet' last year and she also appeared on his ITV2 reality show.

Staff at the Hillside Manor home in Bradford told the paper that Ivy had opened her eyes and 'gave a little smile' for the first time in 24 hours when she heard his voice on loudspeaker.

"She definitely knew it was him," manager Pat Wright said.

“He was telling her to be strong and you could tell by his voice he was trying to be strong too."

Among her 56,000 Twitter fans were Stephen Fry, Ashton Kutcher, radio presenter Chris Evans, and the former Prime Minister’s wife Sarah Brown.

A message on her Twitter page this morning confirmed that Ivy had "passed away peacefully at 12.08 this morning."
