Report: Monjack drained Murphy's savings

Brittany Murphy's husband Simon Monjack reportedly drained most of the star's finances before his death from anaemia and pneumonia in May.

According to Murphy's former business manager Jeffrey Morgenroth, Monjack withdrew "huge amounts of money" from Murphy's pension plan after her death in December from pneumonia, anaemia and multiple-drug intoxication.

"There were huge amounts of money in [Brittany's] pension plan and bank account, and all of that's gone," Morgenroth told People.

He added: "I would see it on the statements. There was money being withdrawn by Simon, hundreds of thousands."

Morgenroth alleged that Murphy's mother Sharon is now facing financial uncertainty because of Monjack's withdrawals.

The financial manager also claimed that Monjack's mother Linda ordered Sharon to leave the couple's Hollywood Hills house after Murphy's death.

"Before Sharon could say anything, Linda stated the house was now hers," he said.

Linda Monjack has denied any wrongdoing and said that Monjack "didn't get much, maybe a few hundred dollars, and he paid off his debts with it" before passing away from anaemia and pneumonia in May.
