Former Corrie heartthrob Adam Rickitt is hoping to become a conservative MP at the next general election, it was confirmed today.
The 27-year-old actor, most noted for being one half of the soap's first gay kiss, had recently attended the party conference in Blackpool.
A Tory spokesman said: "We can confirm that Adam Rickitt is on our candidates' list."
