Jaden Smith 'received sword for birthday'

The Karate Kid star Jaden Smith has revealed that he received a sword on his last birthday to add to an already extensive collection of weapons.

The 12-year-old son of Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith was given the "huge" blade by his manager on his big day at the beginning of the month.

Smith bragged to Radio 1 that this wasn't the first time that he had received dangerous arms as a present, saying: "I already have a bow and arrow, another sword and an axe.

"I got my first sword when I was 8 or 9 years old. My mum gave me my first sword and axe and my [uncle] gave me my first bow and arrow."'

Smith's Karate Kid co-star Taraji P. Henson admitted in June to being impressed by the pre-teen's ability to quickly master the art of kung fu for the film.
