New 'Doctor Who' splits from girlfriend

New Doctor Who David Tennant has split from his girlfriend.

The actor, who had been dating actress Keira Malik since June, called time on the relationship due to impossible work schedules. While Tennant is busy playing the Time Lord in Cardiff, Keira is moving to New York to study drama.

"Keira and David were a great couple and very close," a source told the Sunday Mirror. "They're both down to earth and neither are that interested in the showbusiness scene.

"But work commitments kept them apart for longer periods of time. It's very sad things didn't work out. They both agreed that it was better if they just split."
