According to CNN, the musician is expected to announce his political aspirations on Larry King Live tomorrow.
Speculation that Jean was planning to campaign for president arose last month when he reportedly filed out the necessary paperwork to run for office.
The star's brother has since told The AP that he is "very serious" about his presidential bid, adding: "It's not something that was taken lightly, it's not a joke... It is different for us, but we are proud of him and we are going to support him in any way we can."
Jean was born in Haiti and was one of the stars who pledged support to the country following the earthquake on January 12. He currently serves as a goodwill ambassador for Haiti and is the founder of the Yele Haiti charitable organisation.
